Villa Carlton
Combines Tradition and Elegance!
Villa Carlton Salzburg – History in new splendor
Villa Carlton reveals taste and style. After a comprehensive restoration achieved in April 2011, the history-charged Ceconi villa has got its new splendor. Anna Sigl and her young committed staff animate the four-star boutique hotel with their hospitality and a smile. The modern and original furnishings captivate any guest. Four levels offer four times feel-good atmosphere for any requirement. The non-smoker hotel provides country manor and traditional style as well as elegant and lively pop-art.
Villa Carlton – What history tells us
The old Ceconi Villa was constructed around 1900. It was first the summer residence of a Viennese family; they sold it later on to “Kurbetriebe Salzburg”, who converted it into a health resort. After several changes of ownership, the hotel was taken over by family Sigl in 2010 and reopend as a stylisch boutique hotel.
Villa Carlton – The entrance to Old Salzburg
Villa Carlton excels by its central location at the entrance to Old Salzburg. Mirabellgarten, the main railway station, and the Congress Center are within easy walking distance. The historic center is some 700 meters away and can be reached via a pleasant promenade along the bank of river Salzach. Hotel guests arriving by car take the highway exit “Salzburg Mitte” and follow the orange hotel route. The central station is 800 meters from the hotel. A speedy access to the hotel is ensured by the city busses, with “Kongresshaus” as closest stop. Salzburg Airport is five kilometers from Villa Carlton. Bus line 2 also runs between Airport and the Congress Center. It’s a 25 minutes ride.
Rooms with a character
Villa Carlton comprises 39 elegantly furnished rooms including ten luxurious suites for superior guests. All four levels have an individual feel-good atmosphere. All rooms are equipped with wooden floor, bath-tub or shower, flat screen Sat-TV, phone, iPod docking station, hair drier, safe, and a writing-table. Throughout the house, WLAN is available for free. The spacious single rooms are equipped with large beds. The comfortable double-rooms can optionally be booked with separated beds. The Superior double-rooms with an oriel or balcony offer much comfort. The suites with classic and individual furnishings consist of two rooms.
Villa Carlton Salzburg – Where service and competence reside
The reception desk of the hotel is run around the clock. Anna Sigl’s friendly staff assists their guests in whatever way when it is about planning their stay in Salzburg and procuring tickets for concerts, and the theater, or organizing sightseeing tours. The hotel is equipped with a safe and an elevator; daily newspapers are available. The service offer includes a car and bike hiring service. Pets are admitted on request. Parking in the courtyard is possible, depending on availability. An alternative is provided by the 500 meters far public garage which can be used for a fee.
Gourmets at Villa Carlton
After a restful night, the day at Villa Carlton begins with a well-balanced and abundant breakfast in our bright breakfast room. The buffet is available from 7 to 10 AM. Atmospheric moments are also ensured by the hotel bar in the lounge. In case of fair weather, the café terrace opens its gates. Guests can experience the entire range of Salzburg’s gastronomy in the restaurants of Old Salzburg. Anna Sigl’s staff will be pleased to make your reservations.
Anna Sunshine Sigl – your host at Hotel Markus Sittikus & Villa Carlton
Anna Sunshine Sigl lives up to her name: the hotel manager likes to address her guests and her staff with a friendly smile. Her love for the job is thus quite obvious. Though Anna Sunshine Sigl appreciates most the changes hotel life brings about: getting to know different people again and again is among her favorite tasks. During her scarce leisure time, Anna Sunshine Sigl loves travelling, meeting friends, or overexerting herself with sport. On this page, she reveals to her guests how she imagines a perfect vacation day in Salzburg. Enjoy trying out and discovering!
Between Mirabellgarten and Salzach banks: my tip for the morning
Under fair weather conditions, you should absolutely pay a visit to Mirabellgarten and Linzergasse at Andräviertel. Mirabellgarten is a unique and marvelous park, a must-see within any proper Salzburg stay! At Linzergasse, you’ll find selected shops with that certain something, differing from the usual offer in the old town in a pleasant way. My very personal tip for breakfast is Café Bazar. There one enjoys an excellent breakfast with a direct view over the Salzach banks.
Lunch at Café Wernbacher
For lunch, I recommend Café Wernbacher in immediate vicinity at Andräviertel. An atmosphere that reminds of the typical Old Vienna coffee house and a variegated clientele ensure your well-being and make the café a place for falling in love! In each detail, one feels the traditional hospitality of this family enterprise. Thanks to its central location, tourists and natives, people of all kinds, are happy together. Beside great coffee and tasty breakfast specialties, there is a daily changing menu offering seasonal delicacies. Ideal for a short intermezzo! If you prefer a longer stay in a relaxed atmosphere you’ll also find the right place to read a newspaper or a book.
Salzburg with a view
Salzburg is surrounded by numerous mountains offering a fantastic view over the whole city. My tip for the afternoon: take the train up to Salzburg’s Fortress which is always worth a visit. Having arrived on the top, you’ll enjoy the probably most beautiful view over the city. From here, you may promenade to “m32”. This stylish restaurant is a real treat for design and architecture lovers. Excellent meals and snacks are also available there.
My regular haunt: Restaurant Triangel
For the evening, I’d suggest to meet up at Restaurant Triangel. This inn captivates me with its cool, relaxed atmosphere – here I like to be a habitué myself! I also like the philosophy of the “Triangel”: regional cuisine, fair and eco-oriented, an open-minded atmosphere. The staff is particularly friendly and meals are always rapidly served.
Salzburg by night: my tips for your evening program
After dinner, one should make a promenade across the nocturnal old town. Then head to the “Republic”, a mix of restaurant, bar, café, and club. The “Republic” scores with great events including concerts and fashion shows, but also with a nice clientele. If you prefer to take some good drinks, I recommend the “Carpe Diem”.
