Due to its location our guests are fast in all the major attractions. Our modern rooms are decorated in neutral position and provide the perfect ambience for a deep sleep. Some rooms have terraces with views over quiet in the courtyard.

The private hotel is centrally situated at Wurzbachgasse. It’s a five minutes walk to Wiener Stadthalle boasting a dense event schedule. Underground station U6 and a bus stop are just 100 meters from the hotel. Places of interest reachable from the hotel over short distances include the Naturhistorisches Museum, the Möbel Museum, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the City Hall, and the Parliament building.

Atlantis Hotel Vienna was opened in 1992. It’s a new building designed following most modern aspects. In the subsequent years, the hotel was repeatedly renovated and redesigned – Sylvia Unger and her staff have a passion for creating a relaxed feel-good atmosphere for their guests.

Atlantis Hotel Vienna offers its guests 117 cozy rooms within two buildings. Air con, safe, cable TV, mini-bar, phone, and hair drier are among the hotel’s equipment standards. The 37 brand-new Executive rooms are equipped with parquet, flat screen-TV, and free Internet access. Furthermore, four apartments and a suite are available. As the only one ****hotel in Vienna, the Atlantis Hotel offers three rooms with waterbeds and terraces.

Services and offers of the hotel

At the reception, any questions and issues of our guests are addressed in a personal and competent manner. Textile cleaning and room service are among the hotel’s offers as well as a laundry service. Electric irons and ironing-boards are available on demand. The conference room seats 20 to 25 persons. The room is equipped with TV, Video, a pin-wall, and flipchart. Car-posts are available in the hotel’s underground garage.

Culinary aspects of Atlantis Hotel Vienna

The breakfast buffet in the main house ensures a perfect start of the day. Drip coffee, espresso, juices, tea, egg dishes, fruit salad, and mueslis offer a broad selection. In the Lobby Bar, coffee and soft drinks are offered. Those looking for a cozy coffee house or a typical Viennese Restaurant close to the hotel may ask the staff. Reservations are voluntarily carried out.

Austria Classic Hotel Vienna combines history and modern times in Vienna’s district named “Leopoldstadt”. Ines Pietsch and her staff manage the house in a professional yet familiar manner. Guests enjoy the charm of the city hotel and feel perfectly at ease in one of Vienna’s most tradition-rich hotels. With constant respect of its history, the house has been modernly equipped and offers style and comfort. There is a cordial relationship with the habitués of the hotel. The turbulent history of the Austria Classic Hotel in Vienna

The main building of the hotel was constructed as a dwelling-house by Peter Danhauser in 1808. The building called “Zum schwarzen Tor” (Black Gate) had two levels. In 1838, the house was enlarged by an additional level and Josef Scheiflinger opened “Hotel Nordbahn”. This name of the hotel remained unchanged until 2008. Since 1838, the hotel is family-owned. In 1849, the hotel was extended by two side-wings and an inner courtyard. Also the year 1888 was of historic importance for the hotel. Film music composer Max Steiner was born at Hotel Nordbahn. Later on, he became worldwide famous through films such as “Casablanca” or “Gone with the wind”. The severely damaged house was under Russian rule until 1955. In 1955, Felix Scheiflinger acquired the hotel business. In 1961, hotel direction was transferred to his daughter Erika Blumauer. Modern bathrooms and state-of-the-art equipment were created. As of 1973, her son, Reinhard Blumauer, managed the hotel. Since 2010, his daughter Ines Pietsch has been managing the tradition-rich family hotel.

Sylvia Unger loves changes – there is always something to do! After years of professional experience at renowned hotels, she put the focus on private hotel management. A good work atmosphere is as important to her as the well-being of her guests, with whom she has a personal dialogue now and then. Sylvia Unger prefers spending her scarce leisure time with her daughter, enjoying a ride in Burgenland or Nordic Walking across Vienna’s Prater. Delicious breakfast at Hotel Atlantis

A perfect day in Vienna beginns with a nice breakfast at Hotel Atlantis. The rich buffet offers anything you desire –for example, also lactose free milk. Then it is a five minutes walk to the center where you can enjoy a promenade through the historic city. My tip: just follow the Ring along Kunstmuseum and Naturhistorisches Museum and let the magnificent architecture captivate you. Then continue walking via Hofburg and the city to St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Breathe typical Viennese flair and enjoy living history in the midst of the metropolis!

Lunch for any taste

You don’t have to go far for a delicious lunch – around the hotel there are different recommendable venues for an opulent meal or just a snack. “Gasthaus Schilling”, for instance, a ten minutes walk away, pampers its guests with Austrian “Schmankerl” (=delicacies) at very moderate prices. Do you prefer Asian cuisine? A visit to the close shopping center Lugner City could be your best choice: here you’ll find both excellent “Running Sushi” and many other Thai and Chinese specialties.

Library and Open Air Cinema: my tip for the afternoon

What about a visit of the impressive Wiener Hauptbibliothek (=main library)? This building is just a few minutes from your hotel. You don’t have to browse books in order to feel at ease there – I’d suggest you to go to the on-site café. Here one can let oneself be pampered with snacks, good coffee, and delicious pastries. Doing so, one can enjoy a special view – i.e. over a dozen book shelves! During summer, the Hauptbibliothek is moreover a popular venue for the Open Air Cinema Program.

Dinner at Steakhouse

After a perfect day with delicacies of Austrian cuisine, I recommend a culinary contrast program: pay a visit to the “Texas Steakhouse”! This restaurant is in immediate proximity of Wiener Stadthalle, just behind Hotel Atlantis. They offer a broad range of excellent and manifold steak variations.

Cinema fun during all seasons

During summer, when the weather is fair, I feel attracted to the Open Air Cinema at Hauptbibliothek. Natives and visitors gather here to watch a various outdoor movie program. Under inclement weather conditions, Lugner City Cinema Center is worth a visit: cinema friends find there a particularly broad selection of current movie highlights. Afterwards, I‘d suggest you a stay in our cozy hotel bar ensuring the perfect end of a delightful day.
